About the role
As part of the Regulatory Division, this collaborative team undertakes disclosure, compliance and investigative work that supports transparency and strengthens public confidence in Australia’s democratic processes.
The role of Investigations Officer is an opportunity to contribute to a national purpose while building your expertise in investigations, analysis and regulatory work.
Duties
- Gather and analyse information to support investigations and regulatory decision-making.
- Use data and intelligence to identify potential compliance risks and emerging issues.
- Prepare briefs, reports and correspondence to support high-quality investigative outcomes.
- Lead complex investigations and provide evidence-based recommendations to support regulatory outcomes.
- Develop and maintain productive stakeholder relationships to support investigations and compliance activities.
- Identify emerging risks and trends, contributing to targeted compliance and enforcement strategies.
- Contribute to the development of policies, procedures and guidance to support consistent regulatory outcomes.
Skills & experience
- Experience in investigations, compliance, audit, regulatory or other evidence-based assessment work.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify issues, assess risks and provide well-reasoned advice.
- Ability to gather, analyse and interpret information from multiple sources to support decision-making.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and handle sensitive matters professionally.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes in a dynamic environment.
Additionally, the APS6 Officer will need to demonstrate experience in:
- Leading investigations, complex enquiries or regulatory reviews, including gathering and assessing evidence to support defensible outcomes.
- Applying legislation, policy or regulatory frameworks to assess risks, inform decisions and guide investigative activities.
